Janet Leigh was an American actor, singer as well as a dancer, author and writer. Janet Leigh was born in Merced, California in July 1927 and passed away in October 2004. The most famous part she played was as Marion Crane, in the 1960 movie Psycho. Leigh was also in other movies such as The Romance of Rosy Ridge and The Manchurian Candidate. She received an Academy Award in the year 1961. Leigh received a Golden Globe Award in 1961 for her performance as the Best Supporting Actress on the film Psycho and was also nominated to win one of the Academy Award for the same role. In 1960 she received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1777 Vine Street. The children of her are Kelly Curtis Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tony Curtis. The actress also appeared in a variety of TV series as well as wrote four books. Janet Leigh passed away on the 3rd of October, 2004 age 77 from vasculitis.
